Curate Henry Butcher is pleased to present Sabihis Md Pandi works, mostly loaned from different collectors for exhibition purposes, at SENI Mont Kiara in February 2017.

The exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to examine the breadth of Sabihis’ artistic repertoire of woodcut blocks and prints on canvas. The exhibition consists of outstanding works from the recent years.

Born in 1988, the artist won the Bronze Award (Established Artist Category) at the UOB Painting Of The Year (Malaysia) in 2014, and received the Malaysian Emerging Artist Award in 2013. Widely acclaimed for his creative methods in printmaking, the artist has addressed various issues pertaining to recent history, most importantly documenting the evolution of a new society. In his works, layer after layer is built up and overlaid maintaining a dynamic composition of personal stories and collective events. The figures and scenes are rendered with great dexterity, weaving narratives which encourage dialogue and reflection upon our complex reality.
